Heidi Dakin, MOTR/ L
Heidi Dakin is an occupational therapist who joined the InterPlay Therapy team in October 2015. She relocated from San Diego, California where she worked with children with a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder, various developmental delays, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, feeding problems, ADHD, and seizure disorder. She has always had a heart for investing in and nurturing children and looks forward to building new therapeutic relationships at InterPlay. She has previous experience working with military children and their families overseas through the Army Exceptional Family Member Program and volunteering at Department of Defense schools.
Heidi attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California where she was awarded a Master of Occupational Therapy Degree, the Judith Olson Scholastic Achievement Award, and the Outstanding Occupational Therapy Student Award.
She has obtained additional training and continuing education with Integrated Listening Systems (iLs) in auditory interventions, the Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation in SPD, the Profectum Foundation in Sensory processing and executive functioning, the Infinity Walk method, and PESI in self regulation strategies for children.
Heidi looks forward to promoting children’s independence in everyday occupations in Palm Beach County through the primary occupation of childhood: PLAY.
