Jannean Burke, MOTR / L
Jannean joined the InterPlay team as an intern in 2015 and after graduating from her Masters program stayed on board accepting a full-time position. Jannean acquired her B.S. in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University and continued her education at Nova Southeastern university where she received her Masters in Occupational Therapy. Jannean was trained directly by Dr. Pilar Saa and by Ms.Tanya Smith on sensory intervention techniques and she continues to focus her education towards sensory based interventions.
Jannean has successfully treated many children at InterPlay and her kind spirit, and her understanding of childhood occupations and difficulties vastly help her in finding a playful but therapeutic approach to treatment.
Jannean has spent most of her life working with children, at schools, at after care and as a camp counsellor. This is where she found her passion for the pediatric population.
Jannean focus is on a family centered approach, looking to build therapeutic relationships with both her clients and their families. She is excited to be a part of the interplay family and continue expanding her knowledge of sensory integration as it related to participation in functional occupations.
