tephanie joined InterPlay as a pediatric occupational therapist in May of 2018 after previously serving as an intern as part of the Barry University internship program. Stephanie began her post-secondary studies at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She graduated in spring of 2015 with summa cum laude honors, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Degree and a supplemental minor degree in Exercise Science. Her graduate studies included a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Barry University where she was also a member of the Student Occupational Therapy Association until her graduation in May of 2018.

Stephanie has always had a passion for working with children, in part thanks to her Hispanic upbringing. As part of that heritage, Stephanie is well versed in Hispanic culture and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, she was a preschool teacher and camp counselor for over 7 years. Stephanie learned the value of investing her time and energy in others from her volunteer work at the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization and her time volunteering with Life Kids. She understands and values the joy and satisfaction that accompany working in Pediatrics.

Her time at Barry University gave her the experience and knowledge to provide children the best intervention and the drive to continue her education through her career. Since joining InterPlay she has become Sensory Integration Certified from the university of Souther Califronia. Stephanie is elated to be part of the great team of therapists at InterPlay. Thanks to her drive for continually improving professional practice and passion for every child, Stephanie is able to encourage and inspire those she works with to greater achievements.

P.B. a grateful mom!

On my search to help my son I had good experiences and not so good ones. But finding InterPlay has been a blessing in the skies. Dr. Pilar and her team are truly the best professionals in the area. Their charisma and compassion, professionalism, knowledge, integrity and quality of care are what every parent (who is struggling with their child) needs. They didn’t only help my beautiful boy but my family as a whole. Their understanding of sensory integration and their playful approach to treatment engaged my son and they were able to get out the best of him. In every session they gave their heart and he gave them his best. It just took a couple months for all of us to see the benefits of the treatment. Today, I am glad to say that our family is at peace with our situation, knowing that hard work (as we are guided by the experts at InterPlay) will lead us to the right path …
